As mentioned in a previous post, I got to play Inky Draws, The World’s Oldest Cartoonist, in a pilot for a children’s television show. Here’s the trailer for the show with Inky at his snarling best. It also manages to sum upthe plot in one-and-a-half minutes.
Just between you and me: I acquired all my star qualities and charisma by watching my niece Bridget on stage– she’s The Tops!! Thanks, Widge! Love, Inky The Unk
Pat, your cheerful support means a lot. I really enjoyed looking at your portfolio at Patrick Henry Photography– nice work! If Inky looks familiar, you musta been flippin’ thru the mug shots at Peerless Insurance Company!!
::shoulders shaking, mustache twitching, head-slap, head-slap, roars with mirth, collapses, lies insensible on rug::
Ah, I’ve regained consciousness… : ) That delightful comment durn near done me in!!
That was supposed to be the pilot for some kinda kids television program. I believe it has since been confined to a dumpster. Great fun, tho. I got involved to help out a friend. My best ad-lib was eating an entire sandwich during one scene, and never swallowing. My cheeks bulged out about 8″ on each side. Well, it was amusing for a couple of nanoseconds, anyway.
Uh… I’m afraid that gray in the ‘stache doesn’t wash out… : ( ::opens can, gets gob of shoe polish, dabs furiously, morphs into Tar Baby::
Thanks for the wonderfully uplifting comment!! : )
Ah, thank you my dear Dolly– it’s so nice to see that someone appreciates my obvious star quality… : P
Alas, this is the only available clip from the production. The guy who wrote and produced it promised to send all of us performers a copy of the finished video, but he never did. However, I can assure you that I was absolutely brilliant– as you suspected… : )
It made my day to find out that my uncle is also a YOUTUBE STAR!!! Great job, Uncle Mark–I look forward to your major TV debut! Love, Bridget
