I’m a freelance illustrator specializing in humorous and editorial illustration.
I intend to feature work-in-progress and experimental work on this blog.
I have a more “formal” portfolio featuring some of my best and most recent work. There are 20 pieces, total. You can click on Image Details for each illustration and read about the assignment and how I created certain effects.

Very nice site. Especially liked the Memorial Day cartoon — clever mix of photo and pen. The great illustrator Bernie Fuchs would have approved.

No head spin (or parachutes or thanks) required reg. my sincere praise…..here’s why:
When truth is freely expressed in any form, it is felt deeply by all. This stirs up something deep within us. When moved in this way, some folks (dude who shot down your poignant bullet sketch) find it difficult to be eloquent while others seek out more, comment and follow. 😀
Suppressing the truth or withholding it from ourselves is quite damaging. Just like water, it will always find its way out……through blogs! By not following too many blogs is how I follow what’s being said.
And you thought you were the only one to wax eloquent, eh? And, yes, I am feeling much better thanks to a long rest over Thanksgiving.

I’m truly flattered, my dear Radhika– thank you! And I found your remarks about truth very moving and profound. If expressed truth always stirs and works for good in others, we have a strong obligation to always express truth, be it in words, images, our actions.
I also agree that the truth will always out. We deny it at our peril. I’ve heard it said that the truth is often spoken in jest, but I didn’t realize it also seeps out in blogs!! You have given me a new insight there!!
Your eloquence is truly waxy, it’s a pleasure to know you, and I’m glad you’re feeling better!! : )

What?? You’re a Latin scholar as well?? And sincere actually means “no waxy build-up”?? Incredible!! : )
There appears to be some controversy over the etymology of the word, but I have no wish to wax disputatious, and I mean that, um, sincerely… : P

Just thought I’d stop in and say HI!!! I hope you’re doing great and are busy with lots of work (and fun, too, of course!). I’m sorry that I haven’t re-Tweeted you lately but I deleted that account and all the other social media ones (including the art ones here). It got too big, too fast. ::shivers:: I couldn’t keep up and it just made me miserable. I don’t know how other people do it!
But the downside to not having them means I’m not around to publicly share my enthusiasm for the best illustrator ever!

Thanks for the lovely knock-knock-hello, ’tis much appreciated. No worries re opting out of social media, et. al. Sometimes I’m tempted to chuck the whole business myself. There are days when it seems like the biggest, most useless waste of time ever. Less eHooey, more Reeses and library book sales, say I!!

It has been awhile since my last WP blog post. My old computer died, and took Photoshop with it. I’d been using Photoshop for all my image editing and coloring for the last 17 years. The thing is, you can’t buy it anymore and download it to your machine. Adobe now has it installed on remote servers (the famous “Cloud”), and you have to pay an ongoing monthly fee if you want to “buy” it. Long story short: I decided to make the leap and learn an Apple image-editing program called Pixelmator. So most of my time has been devoted to a self-taught crash course in same. Been quite a ride– and one of these days I intend to make it the subject of my next blog post!!
I liked your Things I’ve Never Done post (“The Nevers!”). In fact, I just left you a list! Pretty easy: being dull and lazy, I had a lot to choose from!! 😕
