Busker: Never Trust A Snowman

January 1, 2014

2014?? You’ve gotta be kiddin’!– how’d that happen??

I’m calling on my pal Busker to help convey my New Year’s Wish for all of you: smile, get out and take a walk, make new friends, and always keep a hand on your wallet!!  : )

Busker the saxophone playing street musician walks toward a group of snowmen

Busker the saxophone playing street musician stops and pats his back pocket he suspects his wallet is missing

Busker the saxophone playing street musician is shocked to discover that snowmen have picked his pocket and stolen his wallet and money

Are you making any New Year’s resolutions? (besides visiting this blog more often, I mean)

Ever had your pocket picked by a snowman?

Has anyone ever built a snowman and actually used a carrot for his nose??BlankVertSpace.8pixels

What has our world come to?! Snowmen pick pockets?!!!!!
    1. Besides visiting your blog, my resolution is surviving our move! [I also fear we may pack our dog in a box and never find her again!]
    2. No, good grief never!! But now I will be watching closely whenever I pass one by!
    3. My 2[!] snowmen never reached a decent height [max 50cm!!!] in order to use a carrot, but even if they were big enough, I seriously doubt I would use one!
Happy New Year, my dear friend! 🙂

My dear Marina! So good to get your feedback, I know you have a lot of snowmen in Greece. You call them “puddles,” right?? : P

I hope your move goes well– be sure to disassemble and pack your snowman in the freezer first. That will make transporting him much easier… : )

Wishing you a new year filled with song, paint, sales, and great happiness!!!! : )

Snowman transferred safely! Not sure about the rest of us though! We [well dog excluded] look like dalmatians from the multitude of bruises! [the battle was a tough one!]
A year full of joy in ALL aspects of your life, my friend!!!!
        🙂

My dear Marina!! So glad to hear you survived the move to your new luxury flat, complete with light and airy new studio space, recording studio, and indoor swimming pool– excellent! I never doubted you’d succeed. Now if you’ll excuse me, I must make some phone calls and cancel the paramedics and six ambulances I had standing by… : )

Wishing you a new year filled with smiles, happiness, and new laurels!! : )

Yes, it’s awful– you can’t trust anyone these days, not even innocent-looking, snow-based artificial life forms!! : (

Happy New Year, Lily– thanks for being such a good influence in the universe!! : )

Wow! (This is so funny [I know not in a goodness way – naughty snowman!], much in the same vein as that newspaper article about Winnie the Pooh bopping people in the face at Disneyland!)

What?? Winnie the Pooh acting out?? Well, he might have been having a bad day. I know I get a little cranky when I make a piece of toast and discover there’s no honey in the cupboard. Some things just push a chap round the bend… : P

Thanks for your support, my dear!! : )

No resolutions?? I understand. Excellent chap like yourself– really now, what could possibly need improving?? : )

Happy New Year, Frank! Thanks a lot for your support, and for being such a good influence! : )

There’s plenty of need for improvement. Maybe I favor a continuous improvement plan rather than a yearly plan with a designated kickoff.

Thankfully, there hasn’t been enough snow here to even make a snowman this year. Nope, almost none, and what little there was, melted away fast. We had a green Christmas. Well, gold and brown, really, but you get the idea…

A Christmas without snow? Sounds like a movie. I’ll have Bing Crosby, some chorus girls, and some WWII vets sent over right away– works every time… : )

Well, a green Christmas isn’t so bad, especially if you’re playing golf. Hope you’re off to a good start, Jak– Happy New Year! : )

ROFL– my grandfather is a WWII vet… could he be part of the reason why Spokane got snow?

A Toothsome New Year?? Why, that sounds like the absolute pinnacle of happiness– I’ll take it!! : )

It’s a pleasure to know you. You are one of the true sources of happiness in the world– the other being donuts.

I know you’re starting a new chapter this year– wishing you every happiness, dear Dolly!! : )

Ah, my dear Judy! Busker’s an innocent, you see. He’s unfamiliar with vice, seediness, corruption, and the absolute dregs of society. If he were a hard-boiled newspaper reporter or a cartoonist, he’d be hip to the lurking evils of the world. Yes, one learns a lot, living on the edge…

      Or so I’m told… : P

Happy New Year to one of my favorite people!! : )

Busker! His reaction in frame five is awesome! Isn’t it fun to put that much life into a character? You do it so well. But those are some pretty bad snowmen you’ve got there, Mark. 😉

We actually have used carrots for noses for snowmen. I thought it was the law.

    Happy New Year!

Haw, haw! Carrots. It’s the law… haw! I’m trying to imagine that as a TV spot, followed by millions of terrified parents running out in the yard, knee-deep in snow, checking to see if their kid remembered to use a carrot. Yeah, it’ll probably come to that someday… : (

I do love “startled reaction shots” in cartoons. I wish we were capable of executing them in real life. I’m always being shocked by something– it’d be nice to go zoomin’ up in the air, and get a little fun out of it… : )

Happy New Year, Maddie, you’re one of the best!! Wishing you much happiness, and tons of sales and success with your delightful books!! : )
