168,168 Views, But I Got The Blues

April 5, 2018

I was checking my WordPress blog stats today and noticed I had 168,168 all-time views.

Whoa! One of those spooky why-wouldja-look-at-that numbers that jumps out and knocks your hat off.blank vertical space, 32 pixels highwordpress blogging statistics April 2018 Mark Armstrong Illustration 168.168 views

posts yesterday, and it sank without a trace.

I suspect (but can’t prove) that for some reason, many of my beloved followers weren’t notified.

So if you missed yesterday’s exciting post about Bud Light’s “Dilly Dilly” television commercials and how they went viral on social media, do take a look.

A WordPress stats glitch, perhaps? My views dropped to one or two a day a few months back, then all of a sudden they are routinely double or triple what they had been. Or what if Google changed an algorithm?!

Down to a trickle, then double or triple what your #views had been? Hmm… that’s a head-scratcher, Margy! Can’t say I’ve seen anything like that. I am convinced my followers didn’t get notified when I published that next-to-last post. The utter lack of response was just too stark. And it’s happened at least one other time in recent memory. Like I said, I certainly can’t prove it, and neither can I completely rule out paranoia!! 😰

Oh, well. Keeps life interesting, I guess. We must soldier on, as they say down at the ant colony… 🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐛🐜😊

    Awww…((((((hugs))))))
Whatever the reason – some nasty internet cooties messing around in the webs, probably – it feels cruumy to have that happen! I know, bec it happens to me all the time. I have designs on Redbubble that [apparently] no human eyes have ever seen. 😉

I’d’ve visited you but havn’t been here for a while, way behind, catching up now.

But WOWEEEEEEEEEE!!!! 168,168 views!!! That’s fabulous!! ::applause::
(I’m happy to have been part of that number over the years – your posts are super!)
    🙂

I just did a forensic stat analysis, and you were personally responsible for 168,000 of the 168,168 views. Thank you for your loyalty and true blog heroism, my dear RK!! 👍🏆😊

I’m pretty certain I don’t have 6,000+ comments which is often a true sign of dedicated/engaged readers.
