Boost Your Post With Click to Tweet

September 30, 2019

It’s a very comprehensive post that looks at different ways to promote your content. Lots of good ideas, and I can highly recommend it.blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

My own contribution focused on an app called Click to Tweet. I only discovered it earlier this year. You need a Twitter account to use it.blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

Click to Tweet is a free link generator that allows readers to share your content through their Twitter account (which means we’re proceeding on the assumption that most people who read your posts will have a Twitter account).blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

Here’s how it works:blank vertical space, 24 pixels high

You start by finding a catchy one-liner in your blog post— something “tweetable.” A quote, perhaps, or a bit of advice.blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

For example, I said the following in a previous post: “Figure out new ways to tell your brand story. Don’t be the bore at the cocktail party telling the one we’ve all heard before.”blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

First step: compose the tweet, just like you would on Twitter: tweet text + short link to post + your Twitter handle + hashtagsblank vertical space, 16 pixels high

For the above example:blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

“Figure out new ways to tell your brand story. Don’t be the bore at the cocktail party telling the one we’ve all heard before.” http://bit.ly/2IXEb2d via @mrstrongarm #marketing #contentmarketing #brandingblank vertical space, 16 pixels high

Go to clicktotweet.com, type in your tweet, and click “Generate Link.” This will create a custom link for your tweet. blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

Use the generated link to create a hyperlink for the text you want shared. blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

Whoever clicks on the link will have the tweet automatically added to their Twitter status box: to send it, all they have to do is click “Tweet.”blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

They’ll be sharing your tweet (and the link to your content) with all their Twitter followers.blank vertical space, 24 pixels high

I went ahead and created a Click to Tweet link for the “Figure out new ways” quote. Here it is:blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

“Figure out new ways to tell your brand story. Don’t be the bore at the cocktail party telling the one we’ve all heard before.” (click to tweet)blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

Try clicking on the “click to tweet” in parentheses above. If you have a Twitter account, you should see the corresponding tweet pop up in a Twitter status box.blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

All you’d have to do at that point is click “Tweet” to send it out to your Twitter followers. The tweet will direct them to the post where the “Figure out new ways” line appears.
