April Fool! Is That Any Way To Treat A Street Musician??
It’s April Fools’ Day, so I’m calling Busker back for a quick encore, the poor guy. You can see the original hand-lettered strip here.
Stay alert for pranksters, especially guys who draw funny pictures, and if you see a street musician today, give him an extra tip!
What do you think? Have you ever been the victim of an April Fools’ joke? Ever played a good one on somebody else? Hope you’ll leave a comment.

Man With Only One Basket Wind Up With Egg On Face
Who Was That Gradient Mask, Man?
AWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Poor Busker!!!!!!
LOL!!! I love how he’s leaping to grab it. I want to put my hand under him and lift him higher before that big meanie takes it away!
I guess you can tell that I’ve never played an April Fool’s joke on anyone. I tried once at work and couldn’t go through with it. I felt sooooo bad!!! Came right out and blabbed it to the “victim” before the axe fell (so to speak).
I hope someone gives Busker a BIG check, soon.

I must apologize!– I should have known that given your kind and sympathetic nature, that little episode would have caused you emotional duress. Heck, it caused me emotional duress, and I’d seen it before!! : P
Your reluctance to pull a prank on someone speaks well of you, really. It’s a more complex business than it appears. I’ve pulled a few in my time (but none, oddly, on April Fools’ Day that I can recall), but I have strict rules: it can’t be mean, and you can’t let the other person “hang” for more than a second or two– then you must come clean and confess all. I also buy the “victim” some Reeses Pieces, which I then contrive to eat most of myself… : P
Thank you for your kind and sympathetic support!!!! : )

Gosh! I had no idea that April Fools’ Day actually impacts the reproductive cycle! I remember being very confused during that part of high school Biology class, now it seems the whole business is even more complicated than I thought!! : P
Always great to see you, Annie, and thanks as always for your good-humored support! : )

I’m amazed the holiday endures, seeing it was based the change of the calendar from the Julian one to the Gregorian. (April 1 used to be the start of the new year, and the April fools would be those that forgot the switch.)
I remember an engineer suggesting to me that we should switch to the Mayan system (or maybe that was just time generally) but I think we already did an Calendar Fool reboot with the whole end of the world thing…

Ha! Yes, we did the Mayan Calendar to death back in December– time to turn the page. Or should I say, turn the stone?? Thanks for that timely comment, Jak! : )

I do not do much for April Fool’s, which may well have saved me from others’ shenanigans. Great toon.

Many thanks, Red. Yes, you’ve hit on a very important point to consider– possible retaliation! No doubt about it, jokes are always funnier when someone else is the victim. Not so funny when they’re played on us. Good to reflect on that point now and then! : )

Yes and yes. My granddaughter tried to pull one on me tonight. She apparently forgot I raised a major prankster – her mother. Right now, I can’t recall the best prank. I’ll get back to you on that one.

Your granddaughter sounds like Young Grasshopper tryna put one over on the ol’ Master Prankster Herself. Give it up, kid, yer in there with the champ!
I’m not surprised you couldn’t think of the best prank you ever pulled, Judy– I suspect there’s just too much material to choose from! Keep up the good work, say I! : )

Nasty old lady, Mark; and she looks so innocent…! 😉
In Australia (many years ago) Dick Smith (an entrepreneur/philanthropist/everything Aussie loving character of good standing) pulled off an amazing April Fool’s Day prank that has become one of the world’s 12 best pranks ever…. ‘The Great Sydney Harbour Iceberg Hoax’. If you have a moment I believe you’ll enjoy the read…

Wow! A guy who faked an iceberg– it doesn’t get much “cooler” than that!! I’d really like to shake his hand. There are few things I enjoy more than an elaborate prank involving time, energy, and careful planning, one that deceives people in a harmless, good-natured way, something silly that gives everyone a good laugh. Sounds like Mr. Smith achieved a true classic.
Speaking of true classics, always a delight to see you here, my dear Carolyn– and thanks for sharing!! : )

It’s always a great honor to receive a visit from The World’s Most Popular And Glamorous Dentist! All the world’s a set of teeth, as Shakespeare once said, and they all need drillin’ and fillin’. Especially teeth that spend their day eating donuts.
Thank you for supporting me and poor Busker– we bow before you, we are truly in awe!! : )

I am usually at the receiving end of April Fools’ joke . This year I was fooled by so many of my friends that I wanted to fool at least one person before the clock struck midnight ! The nearest person to me that time was my mum, and it worked 😉
Great Cartoon 😀 Poor busker !

Poor mum! They always seem to be on the receiving end. Thankfully, they let us get away with it– well, most of the time, anyway… : )
Yes, that was hard luck for ol’ Busker. I’ll have to make sure he comes out on top in the next installment! : )
