Buffalo Bill Explains the Benefits of Going Without

January 28, 2025

Big buffalo representing the Buffalo Bills professional football team. He's got a lot of arrowheads sticking in his body. Arrowheads have letters KC on them, representing the Kansas City Chiefs football team. Buffalo is glaring at salesman who's trying to sell him a shaggy coat to cover his backside.blank vertical space, 24 pixels highBill was from Buffalo.blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

Maybe that’s why they called him Buffalo Bill.blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

He played football.blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

Gets cold in Buffalo, snows a lot.blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

You need a warm coat.blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

Bill only had half a coat. His tail was always cold.blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

Every year, Bill and his team played the Kansas City Chiefs for the championship.blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

They always lost.blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

They just lost again this year.blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

Bill’s down about it, which is understandable, but at least he’s going home with more arrowheads for his collection.blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

Somebody said, “Bill, you should sell them arrowheads. You could buy another half a coat for your tail, so it wouldn’t get cold.”blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

Bill thought about it. He was tempted, but decided against it.blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

“A cold tail’s a good thing,” he said. “Makes ya tough, makes ya mean, keeps ya motivated.”blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

“OK, we lost the game,” he continued. “So what? We’ll be back again next year. And we’re gonna keep coming back till we win.”blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

“Someday we’ll be champions,” said Bill. “And that’s worth freezing your tail off for.”blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

As a Browns fan (I know! I know! Don’t admit it.), I rooted for our neighbors in Buffalo. I also have friends in Buffalo, so it made sense.

Yes, maybe next year. … If the Browns don’t win it all!

Good to see you, my friend! Hope you’re staying warm. Eat lots of soup!

I just talked to Bills head coach Sean McDermott. I told him to have the team eat more soup. He looked kinda doubtful. Then I said, “It was Maddie’s idea.” He perked right up. “In that case, we’ll do it!!” he cried.

So when they win it all next year, the credit will go to you, dear Maddie!! Cheers, and thanks a heap for checking in!! 🙏😊

Prolific, conlific– I try to mix it up… 😅 Thanks, dear Maddie! Actually I’m taking a break from Medium at present. Their algorithm has gone south and taken all my traffic with it. I’m not alone, but that’s no consolation.

But I soldier on, working on some neglected projects and whistling a happy tune!– thanks so mucho for all your kind support!! 🙏😊
