Bicycle Assassin: You’re Never Too Young To Get Sued
Inside Counsel Magazine has a humor feature about Strange Lawsuits. Every month they send me short descriptions of four cases. I rough out ideas, they pick a winner. This one involved a 4-year-old girl who was sued after running into an 87-year-old woman with her bicycle. The woman sustained a severe hip injury.
Scroll down to see the rough sketches for the other cases.
Fourteen-year-old Caitlin Sanchez had been the voice of Nickelodeon’s Dora the Explorer since she was 12. The teen and her parents sued the network after she was
let go because her voice had changed. The suit has since been withdrawn.
Pop singer Dido used a photo of former astronaut Bruce McCandless on an album cover. The photo shows McCandless “free flying” near the Challenger space shuttle. McCandless sued, claiming his “persona” was infringed by the use of the photo.
Ricky Donnell Ross, also known as “Freeway” Ricky Ross, is a convicted drug trafficker. William Leonard Roberts II is a rap singer who uses the stage name Rick Ross. Rick Ross #1 sued Rick Ross #2 for trademark infringement. A judge dismissed
the case.
And here’s the original sketch for the young bicycle assassin.
Very witty 🙂
