Yakety-Yak! I Was The Guest On A Podcast

January 15, 2024

I’ve been an illustrator since 1989. I’ve had a lot of fun, and seen a lot of changes.blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

I was a recent guest on Gideon 6ix’s podcast.blank vertical space, 24 pixels high

Gideon and I met on the Medium platform, where we’re both writers. He’s a very talented guy. I’ve included his links and more info below.blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

On the podcast, we talked about marketing, cartoons, freelancing, humor, and more. I turned out to be quite a gasbag! 😬💦blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

You can watch the podcast below, or on YouTube.blank vertical space, 32 pixels high

As mentioned, Gideon’s a writer. He specializes in poetry. His latest contains these lines:blank vertical space, 24 pixels highNow that you have felt the Earth move, you have felt life, too.
Feel calm and know that each day is both eternal and fleeting.

Gideon’s collected 50 of his poems into a book, which he’s also illustrated. It’s titled A Truly Wonderful Life of Chaos, and it’s available via Amazon.blank vertical space, 16 pixels high

Hi Mark…. what a great podcast. Drucker happens to be my top favorite caricaturist as well…. I do miss MAD magazine from those early years. Looking forward to seeing your up and coming children’s book, definitely send me a link when it is available. I would prefer a signed copy if that would be possible. Happy New Year and the best to you and yours for the 2024 year.

Hi, John!! A very belated Happy New Year to you as well, and my usual pitiful apology for this tardy reply. Glad you enjoyed the podcast. I really can’t believe what a big windbag I am– don’t get me started!! 😳😬💦

Yeah– Mort Drucker. There was never a time his stuff didn’t absolutely knock me out– where does one get such talent?? It’s sad to think we’ve arrived at a time when MAD Magazine (if it still existed) wouldn’t work– how can you satirize a society where everything is either a big joke, or else politically correct, woke, whatever, and you get censored for making fun of it?

It will be my pleasure to send you a signed copy of the children’s book when I finally finish the darn thing. I gotta focus!!– I’m constantly getting distracted!! 😕🔫

Hope you’re well, amigo– always wishing you the best here. Onward to illustration glory and thanks again for all your wonderful support!! 🙏😊

Maddie–!! You watched the whole thing?? I’m calling an ambulance!!– watching something like that will fry your brain!! ___________ 🚑💨😅

Well, I’m FLATTERED, darling– you clearly made the ultimate sacrifice!!👍😅

It was a lotta fun, I’d never done a podcast before. I still can’t believe all my yak, yak, yak. I knew I was fulla hot air, but still I surprised myself!!😳😬💦

I do apologize for this terribly late reply. Thanks so much for your lovely feedback, and for all your support. Hope you’re well, I’m always wishing you the best here. Cheers and keep smilin’!! 🙏😊

Of course I watched the whole thing! It was wonderful getting to see you “in person” and learning a bit more about you. A children’s book … who knew? ♥
