Inspired by the December 2010 “Jasmine Revolution” in Tunisia, which was followed in January by a similar uprising in Egypt which drove Egyptian President Mubarak (shown below) from power. The two uprisings suggested “the genie was out of the bottle,” and that tear gas was no match for “genie gas.”
