I was inspired to do this piece after the January 10, 2011 Tucson shooting in which
six people were killed and Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords severely wounded.
It shows an all-too-familiar cycle: a high-profile shooting, death, public outcry, gradual loss of interest, complacency, another shooting, and so on.
