This piece was inspired by the recent uprising in Egypt and the term “Jasmine Revolution,” both of which suggest “the genie is out of the bottle.” Jasmine is both
a shrub (light green leaves, yellowish-white flower) and a color (pale yellow), which helps explain part of the color scheme here. The timing of this post seems perfect,
since Egyptian President Mubarak has just relinquished power after 30 years of strong-arm rule.
